Accessorize your country tabletop decor with these easy primitive plate chargers.  Use this inexpensive idea to stretch your decorating dollar.  Change papers for the seasons, holidays or theme parties.  We used brown paper bags for our project, but gift wrap and even aluminum foil work as well.  You may choose to decorate them with stamps, ribbons, stickers or rusty stars.
You will need---
  • Cardboard sheets
  • Brown paper bags
  • Tape
  • Scissors
  1. Cut cardboard into your desired shape.  We cut this one 3" larger than our plate.
  2. Cut brown paper roughly 3" larger than your cardboard shape.
  3. Crumple the paper and then lightly smooth it back out.  Lay it face down on your work surface and center the cardboard on it.
  4. Fold the paper around the edges of the cardboard and tape the edges securely.
